Melinda Geithmann and John Estell United in Marriage
Melvin and Madonna Geithmann, Toledo, Ohio, are the parents of the bride. Kent Estell, Ormond Beach, Florida, and the late Louise Estell are the parents of the groom.
Music was provided by Dr. Steve Jacoby, organist, Br. Terry Nufer, pianist and the combined choirs of Sts. Peter and Paul and First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
The bride wore an ivory gown with a chapel length train. The bodice of the dress was embroidered with leaves and accented with appliqued flowers. Melinda wore her mother's bridal veil, a hand-sewn lace mantilla which was purchased in Venice, Italy. She carried a cascade bouquet of white and pink-tipped roses, astilbe, freesia and ivy.
Marilyn Freidhof, Blaine, Kentucky, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Nicole Geithmann, Toledo, sister-in-law of the bride, Kandie Hernandez, and Diane Hernandez, Leipsic, OH, friends of the couple.
Martin Geithmann, Toledo, brother of the bride, was the best man. Michael Geithmann, Toledo, brother of the bride, and Scott Freidhof, Blaine, KY, brother-in-law of the bride were groomsmen. Ushers were John Wolfe, jr., Atlanta, Georgia, and Ben Schwab, New Bavaria, Ohio, cousins of the bride.
A reception was held at Marbeck Center, Bluffton College.
The bride and groom were honored to have Alison Ward, Wigan, England, as well as Martina Danzmann and Mrs. Dorothea Danzmann, Siegburg, Germany, as their guests. Ms. Ward and Ms. Danzmann have been the bride's penpals since 1980.
After a honeymoon to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, the couple resides on Hillville Road, Bluffton, Ohio.
Mrs. Estell is a graduate of the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University. She is employed as a school psychologist with the Putnam County Educational Service Center.
Dr. Estell is a graduate of the University of Toledo and the University of Illinois. He is an associate professor of computer science at Bluffton College.
