The team experience two major setback during this design.
1st - Abbott Laboratories was slow to offer support
Eventually Abbot was willing to work with our design group, but not until the design was completed. Because abbot did not work with the group, the design team did not have the proprietary information needed
to develop and accurate and marketable meter. Patent information from current glucose meters was used to build a proof of concept design.
2nd - The Handspring Springboard Module Development Board
This board was vital to the hardware development of our project, The company had stated it could be delivered within a week; thus, it should have been here before the design phase of the project started.
Unfortunately, the board was not received until there was only three weeks left in the design phase of the project. The team worked a great deal on hardware during this period of time. The team also
acquired all the possible documentation for the development board so that we were prepared for its arrival.
